| | | - How does the DP intend to solve the problems of discrimination/exclusion described above? - How and to what extent will the beneficiaries involved solve the problems of discrimination/exclusion?
In the fight against discrimination, the need for cultural change is more relevant than legal sanctions with which to prosecute its manifestation. Therefore, it is necessary to work preventively in order to supply small and medium enterprises with proper instruments to promote a cultural change so to avoid the arising of discriminatory attitudes or behaviours. This way, an antidiscrimination attitude would become part of the `ethical and social responsibility`: an idea widely shared in the entrepreneurs` sectors and so much supported by the EC. Through an integrated strategy, the Development Partnership aims at carrying out the following activities: 1) Analysis and studies, 2) Elaboration of tools, 3) Sensitization and information, 4) Training, 5) Testing of instruments, 6) Mainstreaming.
Involvement of the beneficiaries
Starting from the preparatory phase of the project proposal, the PS has worked for the direct involvement of final beneficiaries. Moreover, during the first steps of the project, the direct beneficiaries -immigrants involved in small and medium-sized enterprises- as well as the indirect, Confartigianato and UniCredit, will be involved in the execution of the project and in the preparation of tools. The research and study phase involves both immigrants and small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, through the delivery of a questionnaire and their participation in some focus groups. Direct interviews with a sample of immigrant employees, will also help preparing both the successive awareness and information campaign addressed to the business world, and the training program for employees of Confartigianato and UniCredit on the needs and wishes of immigrants who are already tied to the labour market and of those who wish to start their own business. The information campaign and the spreading of multi-lingual materials on the opportunities for the immigrants who intend to become entrepreneurs goe in the same direction. Moreover, the services of cultural-linguistic mediation at UniCredit will offer new opportunities for professional growth. The experimentation and control of tools will be accomplished by taking into consideration the needs of the final clients. The impressions of the immigrants involved will represent a true indicator of the evaluation of the planned intervention. This means facilitating communication during the entire realization of the project among the various beneficiaries in order to give greater dynamism to the entire system and develop forms of support to immigrants and adjustment in a multicultural direction for Confartigianato and UniCredit: in the first case, through codes of anti-discriminatory regulations and quality certificates, and in the second, by enabling formulas of immigrant banking.
